Anthropic Computer Use — Claude Controls Desktops Autonomously

Anthropic released a Computer Use capability for Claude 3.5 Sonnet in public beta, enabling the model to view screenshots and operate computers by moving a cursor, clicking interface elements, and typing text — without requiring custom API integrations for each application. Nobel Prize in Chemistry Awarded for AlphaFold

The Nobel Committee awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Demis Hassabis and John Jumper of Google DeepMind for AlphaFold, and to David Baker of the University of Washington for computational protein design. AlphaFold had predicted the three-dimensional structures of over 200 million proteins spanning virtually every known organism, solving a 50-year grand challenge in structural biology.
